Weighing and balancing

We used balances with cubes to check the weight of our copies, our lunchboxes,
a pencil, a ruler, a marker and a rubber.
We used cubes or pencils or lollipop sticks to try and balance everyday objects.
We enjoyed estimating how heavy each object is before balancing it with our weighing objects.
After all that weighing we worked out some weight problems together.
We like problems, they are just like puzzles.
Look at the difference between a gramme weight and a kilogramme.
A kilogramme (kg) is 1000 times heavier than 1g!
